Fall Sports Teams Finish Strong – From staff reports

The fall sports season proved to be another success story, as seven teams posted a combined won-loss-tied mark of 147-54-3, a .731 winning percentage.

The teams’ national championship successes thus far place the college atop the USCAA Director’s Cup standings. Penn College has 404.5 points, followed by Southern Virginia University with 319.5 points and New Hampshire Technical Institute with 300.5 points.

The Director’s Cup is awarded to the member institution that excels in a wide range of men’s and women’s sports for which the USCAA offers championships. The award recognizes the most successful athletic program that competes in the USCAA during a given year. Points for the Cup are awarded based on program offerings and championship event results. Last year, Southern Virginia claimed the cup with 610.5 points and Penn College finished second with 503 points. Ten of Penn College’s 14 sports compete in the USCAA.
